Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common plumbing questions we hear from Chicago homeowners. Can't find what you're looking for? Call us at (773) 482-6190.

General Plumbing

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, all our plumbers hold active City of Chicago plumbing licenses. We also carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance for your protection.

Do you offer free estimates?

Absolutely. We provide free, no-obligation estimates for all standard services. Emergency dispatch includes a diagnosis fee that is clearly communicated upfront.

What areas of Chicago do you serve?

We serve most of Chicago's North Side including Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Bucktown, Logan Square, Andersonville, Roscoe Village, and nearby suburbs like Evanston and Skokie. Check our service area page for details.

Toilet Replacement

How quickly can you replace a toilet?

Most standard toilet replacements are completed in 1-2 hours. Same-day service is often available if you schedule in the morning.

Do I need to buy the toilet myself?

You can either purchase your own toilet or we can supply one for you. We work with all major brands and can help you select the right model for your bathroom.

Will you remove and dispose of my old toilet?

Yes, we handle complete removal and proper disposal of your old toilet as part of the replacement service.

Drain Cleaning

What methods do you use for drain cleaning?

We use motorized snaking for common clogs and hydro-jetting for heavy grease, sludge, and root intrusion. We also offer video camera inspections to diagnose recurring issues.

Can you clear a main sewer line clog?

Yes. Our hydro-jetting equipment can cut through tree roots and years of buildup in main sewer lines. We'll also inspect with a camera to ensure the line is completely clear.

Are chemical drain cleaners safe to use?

We recommend against chemical drain cleaners. They can damage pipes, especially older ones, and often don't fully clear the blockage. Mechanical cleaning is safer and more effective.

Emergency Plumbing

What qualifies as a plumbing emergency?

Burst pipes, sewer backups, major leaks, overflowing toilets, and complete drain blockages are all emergencies. Any situation that risks water damage or health hazards requires immediate attention.

How fast can you arrive in an emergency?

We guarantee a 60-minute response time for emergency calls across our service area. Our dispatchers will give you an estimated arrival window when you call.

Is emergency service more expensive?

Our emergency dispatch fee is $249, which includes diagnosis and immediate mitigation. There is no after-hours surcharge. All repair costs are quoted upfront before work begins.

Pricing & Payment

Do you charge by the hour or flat rate?

We use flat-rate pricing for most services including toilet replacement and drain cleaning. General plumbing repairs are billed at $99 per hour with a one-hour minimum. You'll always know the cost before we start.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, cash, and checks. Payment is due upon service completion unless prior arrangements have been made.

Do you offer any warranties?

Yes, we back all our work with a satisfaction guarantee. We also honor manufacturer warranties on parts and fixtures we install. See our warranty page for details.
